This is my Youtube video

‘Reminiscing on afternoons spent with friends, under tropical green foliage hiding from the sun, the playful ‘click-clack’ of Mah Jong tiles colliding and intermingling with the hum of banter in the background and the sound of songbirds never far away, gossiping, sharing naughty secrets, drinking tea and eating moreish sweets and savouries.’

I was attracted by this passage on the official website, so I went to have a afternoon tea with my friends before the city were locked down. You will feel a very strong Chinese style when you entre the restaurant

The theme of the afternoon tea is about Chinese Whisper. Afternoon tea sets decorated with patterns of songbirds are everywhere. The waiter told us that the songbirds could be wished on a plate and signed on their bellies, and that they would be hung in a cage in the restaurant. Then our wish will come true.

The menu includes 4 parts :a flight of 3 Tea ‘Truth’ potion, sweet secrets and whispers, macaroons with clotted cream and bao ‘ sandwiches’ and savories. The different between the traditional English afternoon tea, kai uses macarons instead of scone. You can spread butter and eat with kai’s special topping. The bottommost savories serve steamed bao slices with roast duck, shrimp, and a delicious Chinese sauce instead of a sandwich. Also includes Chinese tea egg and bao chopped vegetables. Except for a savory called potion of eternal youth, which is an unspeakable taste, I am very surprised with every one. Each dim sum has a name related to the whispering songbird theme, which shows the restaurant’s intentions.
